This annual classic cross country ski tour on 16 miles of groomed trail from Harbor Springs to Cross Village is open to skiers of all ages and abilities. A presentation about the ongoing archaeological Father Weikamp, a German-born priest, arrived in Cross Village in 1855 and soon set about establishing a convent. An eccentric and charismatic personality, Weikamp’s convent included a church and cemetery, farms, a saw mill, a hospital, a school and a crypt made to one day hold Fr. Weikamp’s remains.
